Serving the King

I love the “Do the Hula” stamp set, but it’s been sitting neglected in my cupboard. So I decided to pull it out and try something new with it. I stamped the palm tree on one side of a piece of transparency and colored in the other side with sharpie markers. The front of the card is stamped with the leaf in Cool Caribbean ink on Cool Caribbean cardstock. Three extra leaves were stamped, cut out, and glittered. The punched out rectangle is done by using the large Stampin’ Up square punch… punched 2 squares slightly over lapping so they make a long rectangle. The transparency was cut a little larger than the punched out rectangle so it could be glued on the back side of the hole. The 3 extra leaves were attached with dimensionals.

It was kind of hard to photograph this one... but here it is. :)

Here's another card using the same layout as my last stamp club project, but using Cool Caribbean, a different dog stamp from the same set (ruff-day), and a different pattern of the Au Chocolate designer paper.  I decided not to brayer the entire piece of designer paper with cool caribbean, because I wanted the stitched lines to remain vanilla.  Since Stampin' Up doesn't have a cool caribbean marker I used a few drops of ink refill with my blender pen to color in the part I wanted blue.  :)

Here's the last of the April stamp club projects.  The little dogs in this set are so much fun to watercolor!  I brayered over the Au Chocolate designer paper with Pretty in Pink to add a little color to the Polka-Dots.  And it may be a little hard to see in the picture, but I used the dry brush jumbo wheel in Pretty in Pink on the cardstock.  I think my favorite part of the card is the bone... colored in with the white gel pen.  :)

When the new Stampin' Up catalog came out last July, Artfully Asian was one of the first stamp sets I bought.  Then it got pushed to the back and I never used it.  I'm not sure why, except that I was always busy using something new from the mini catalogs through the year.  Anyhow, I pulled it out for my stamp club this month and decided I love this set!!!  So, here's the first card I've done using my ten month old set!  ;)

The Aida Cloth backgroud is stamped on Choc. Chip cardstock, then the branch with blooms is stamped on top.   The blooms and leaves are colored in with the Stampin' Up white gel pen (I love those gel pens!!).  The leaves are stamped in white craft ink on Celery cardstock.  Sentiment stamped in Black, copper cord wrapped around the branch, brads put in, and then glued all layers down. :)

I haven't used my Roses in Winter set in ages! When it was time to plan my four projects for stamp club I decided to pull it out.  It's such an easy 2-step set. Whether you stamp the layers of roses perfectly straight or completely twisted... it works!  I "stamped off" to get different shades of Apricot Appeal and Ruby Red.

Colors used: Apricot Appeal, Ruby Red, Artichoke

Cardstock: Vanilla and Artichoke

This was a little tin that came with candy inside.  It's pretty small; maybe slightly larger than an Altoids tin.  I removed the handle and painted the edges of the tin white. I used Stampin' Up Rebecca designer paper on the front and back... glued on with modgepodge and then a layer of modgepodge over the top. I covered the chipboard W with designer paper and also made a slightly larger W on Chocolate Chip cardstock to place under the W.  Then added the butterfly charm and bling.  Inside I put a little card kit for my niece, Winona.  Since she's only 4 years old it was a very simple kit. : )
