Hello everyone.  : )

Since I had quite a few people wanting to buy the metal sheets I decided to order some more.  So, it's not too late to buy some. (Click HERE for the post with prices and shipping info.)

For those of you who have already paid for your metal (as of Nov. 12), your metal has been shipped. If you haven't received it yet, you should shortly. I mailed a big bundle of packages today.  : )

What I'd like to do in about a week is have a post where I can put links to the blogs or galleries of everyone who creates something with the metal.  I thought this would be a great way for all of us to get new ideas.  So, if you post a creation with the metal sheets please email me the link if you'd like to have it included in that post.

Hope you're all having a terrific November.   : )

I have information on the metal sheets spread out through several posts, so I decided to put all the info together in one post so it's easier to find.  Here it is.   :  )

Anyone looking for a good price for Metal? I recently found a great source for metal sheets. These work great in the cuttlebug and other embossing and die-cutting systems. You can acheive a unique look by applying alcohol inks, you can stamp on it with stazon ink, or send it through the crimper.

Here's the info if you're interested in purchasing some.

The metal sheets are 5x6 and the thickness is .003

The more you buy, the more you save. Do you have a friend that would also like some metal sheets?  Put your orders together and save more.   : )

Metal Prices:

Four sheets  for   $4.00 =  $1.00 each

Eight sheets for   $7.50 =   .94 each

Twelve sheets for $10.50 =  .88 each

Buy 13 or more sheets and get them for .82 each

Shipping in the US:

up to 12 pieces... shipping is  $2.25

13 to 24 pieces... shipping is  $2.75

(If you live close enough to me to pick up your metal from my house then there will be no shipping fee.)

Shipping to Canada:

Up to 12 pieces  $3.20

13 to 24 pieces  $3.90

Want more than 24 pieces? Let me know and I'll weigh it and get back to you with the shipping price.  : )

I accept payments through Paypal or with a US Postal money order. For Canadian orders I can only accept Paypal payments.

Ready to place an order?  You can email me by clicking on my email near the top of the column on the right hand side.  Let me know how many pieces you'd like to purchase, and which way you'd prefer to pay.  Or you can let me know by posting in the comments, but you'll need to put your email in the actual comment so I have a way to get back to you.    :  )

I have several samples using the metal, starting with the Oct. 23 post.  I will also be posting more samples through the next week.  : )  Thank you for checking them out.

Yay! : )  I can now ship to Canada.  Here's the details.

Shipping prices for Canada:

Up to 12 pieces  $3.20

13 to 24 pieces  $3.90

(If you're from the US... see the Oct. 25th post for the US shipping prices)

To make a payment from Canada you will need to pay through Paypal.  Click on my email (near the top of the right hand column) and let me know how many metal sheets you'd like and I'll get back to you with a total.  : )

Kelly S... if you happen to see this... I tried email you back several times, but it keeps getting returned... saying "delivery failure" to your email address. I do have the 24 sheets saved for you. Maybe try emailing me with a different address?? Maybe your server is down??  You can try sending me a pm through scs. Click here.

Here's another card made with the metal.  I posted this one back in May, but I decided to re-post it since it's another sample using the metal.

This was done using a cuttlebug embossing folder to emboss the metal.  To make it look like aged copper I used the copper alcohol inks (actually the metallic colors are called mixatives, not alcohol inks) with a dauber.  I love how you can turn a silver piece of metal into copper or gold. Ok, I know you're not really "turning it into" copper or gold.  But I think it looks cool and it gives you more options with the metal.  : )

Here's another card using metal sent through the cuttlebug in the swirl embossing folder. After embossing it I used alcohol inks with a felt dauber.

Accessories: Alcohol inks, felt dauber, copper pen, copper cord, cuttlebug

I'm so bummed! My metal shipment was delayed until tomorrow. Please check back then for prices... and hopefully I'll be able to get a picture of it too. : ) For today... here's another card using metal with a cuttlebug alphabet die-cut and alcohol inks.

Another fun thing you can do with the metal is apply alcohol inks.  These inks are a lot of fun and work awesome on metal.  I cut the letters with the cuttlebug first and then applied the inks.

Stamps: Season of Joy (Stampin' Up), Linen

Inks: Pretty in Pink

Paper: Pretty in Pink

Accessories: Metal sheet, Satin Ribbon (from the Stampin' Up holiday mini), Alcohol inks and dauber to add cool color to the letters.  : )

Do you have a person you absolutely love giving cards to? You know... the kind of person who considers your cards so special that they save every one.  There are many people I like to send cards to, but probably the funnest is my niece, Winona. She's a 4 year old princess who always brings a sparkle to my eyes. (And she really does save every card I give her.)    : )

Here's a picture of her walking down the aisle at her big brother, Doug's, wedding last month. See..... I told you she's a princess!  : )

And here's a picture of her with her 6 year old brother, James.  He's another one of my special sweeties!!  : )

I've neglected to send Winona a card for quite awhile now. (bad auntie)  So when I got together with some stamping buddies recently and had a chance to stamp a few "Lil' Cowpokes" images and try out their copic markers I knew I had to make this little cowgirl card for my niece.  (thank you to Joy and Daisy for letting me try out your stamps and copic markers!  : )

Stamps: Little Cowpokes-Casey, Stampin' Up Paisley and Priceless

Paper: Crate (polka-dots), Stampin' Up Bril. Blue, Ruby Red, Whisper White

Ink: Black Stazon, Bril. Blue, Ruby Red

Accessories: Copic Markers, boots charm, matpack, piercer, gelly roll stardust pen, leather trims

Here's another scs sketch challenge (SC144).  I'm really enjoying my new Season of Joy stamp set!  It's such an easy, cool set to use and it's even easier to mount it... because it comes die-cut... ready to mount.  Seriously, I had my set mounted in 5 minutes! Gotta love that! : )

Stamps: Season of Joy, Linen

Inks: Ruby Red, Handsome Hunter, Sage Shadow

Cardstock: shimmery white, Ruby Red, Hunter Green, Sage Shadow

Accessories: Stampin' Up buttons, floss, copper cord, copper paint pen.

 Monday, October 15, 2007

I made this card for one of the sketch challenges on scs (SC145).  The front of the card is cut short (about 1 inch) so the designer paper on the inside of the card shows along the right edge.

All products used are from Stampin' Up

Stamps: Season of Joy, Linen

Inks: Artichoke

Paper: Artichoke, shimmery white, SU Wintergreen designer paper, Celery

Accessories: Moss Taffeta ribbon, copper brads, mat pack, piercer, copper paint pen, glitter, markers

Update 10-12-07: all these sets are sold except the "Santa & Friends" set. If you're interested in that one just send me an email (click on the email near the top of the column to the right).

Ok, I've been a pretty bad blogger lately, haven't I?!!  I'm in the process of looking for a full time job and I've also been super busy trying to organize and clean out some things at my house.  I'll soon be back to blogging several times a week.  : )

For today I have a few stamp sets to sell. These are all retired sets. Most of them have barely been used.

This set is called "A Gift From Heaven."  I mounted it, but don't think I've ever used it, as I can't see any ink staining on the rubber or the wood.  It retired a few years ago... sorry... I don't remember exactly which year.  I'm asking $20 + shipping.  (Of course there's no shipping if you live close enough to pick to it up.)

I love this set. It's called "Star of Wonder."  It's super easy to make your Christmas cards with this one... no coloring in... just go monochromatic and it's beautiful. There is no ink staining on the rubber, but there is a little ink on the edge of the large block.  $20 + shipping.

This is set is pretty rare, as it was only given to demonstrators for sales of certain amount (several years ago). It's called "Santa & Friends."  I cut out the stamps but then never ended up mounting them. So they're all cut out for you, ready to stick on the wood blocks.  I'm was so tempted not to sell this, because I think those 2 snowmen are adorable, but I need to cut down on my stamps... so it must go.  $25 + shipping.

Ok, here's another retired set that I really like. I bought it to do Christmas cards one year. I mounted it, but never ended up making the cards... so it's brand new... no ink staining at all. Mounted and ready to go. It's called "A Gift of Love."  $20 + shipping.

Do any of you need catalogs from past years? I have several. They are $3 each + shipping. Here's pictures of 3 of them. I'm looking today to see if I have other years for sale as well.

This is the 2000-2001

This is 2001-2002

This is 2002-2003

I also have some of the following:

2004-2005, 2005-2006, 2006-2007. They are also $3 each + shipping

Of course I also have current catalogs for sale.  They are $5 each + shipping.

If you're interested in any of these stamp sets or catalogs please email me. (click on the "email me" near the top of the right hand column.)

Hope you're all having a great Oct.  : )

I first posted the pocket pull-up card back in July. Since then I’ve had several requests for step by step instructions. I’m sorry this took me so long to get it together and get it posted. Let me know if you have any questions or if this was fairly easy to understand. I’d love to hear your feedback.  : )

What you need:

1 piece of cardstock  5 ¼ x 8

1 piece of cardstock  5 ½ x 4 ¼

1 piece of cardstock  1 ½ x 5 ½  (this  is your “tab”)

Scrap cardstock for the pocket, girls, and one flower

Step one.

Score the large piece of cardstock in the middle and fold card in half.

Open back up.

On the inside of the card use a ruler or straight edge to draw your lines as shown in the picture.  Two lines from the bottom of the cardstock 4 ¼” long and 1 5/8” apart.

Draw two lines across… one at the top of the two vertical lines and one 3 ¼” inches from the bottom.

Step two.

Cut the two vertical lines. Score the two horizontal lines (as noted by the dotted black dashes).

Place a piece of sticky tape on the very bottom of the cardstock that’s 1 ½ x 5 ½. This piece of cardstock will be your tab.  Adhere this piece to the bottom of the strip you cut on the large piece of cardstock (note the red xxxxxxx).

This picture shows a side view with the card folded shut before the tab has been glued on… so you can see how the scored lines are bent.

This picture shows the card open again with the tab now glued on (at the bottom with the sticky tape).

This one shows how it looks with the card closed. (Tab already glued on)

Step three.

Now that the tab is glued on, open your card up and put glue where it shows in the picture. Be careful not to get glue on the tab area. Carefully shut the card so it will be glued together.

Step four.

Decorate your card as you like. For mine I stamped flowers and leaves all over and clored in. Then stamped a pocket and the girls, and cut them both out. The girls are glued behind the pocket. I also stamped and cut out a single flower to glue on top of the pocket.  I put an eyelet with ribbon through it on the top of the pull tab to make it a little easier to pull up. The pocket with the girls is placed and glued on the strip.

Whatever you decide to use as your main image if it’s larger than the “bend” area, as my pocket is… do not glue it all the way down flat. You’ll have to play with it a little to see exactly where to glue the image so that it will pop up when you pull the tab.

Also, you can stamp your background (as I did the flowers/leaves) before you make any cuts if you like.

Step five.

Glue the card on top of your 5 ½ x 4 ¼ piece of (colored) cardstock to give it a nice border.

Here’s what it looks like with the tab pulled up. I stamped a sentiment so it would show when pulled up, but you could also leave that space blank so you'll have room to write something or sign the card. Please let me know if this was helpful or if you have any questions.  : )

Here's the card I decided to send in for Jami's swap... using the Holiday designer paper from the new mini catalog. I had a really hard time getting a good picture of it for some reason. Maybe my camera doesn't like Pomegranate?? And the bling looks a little blurry in the pic. too. Oh well, that's the best I can do for today.  : )

Stamps: Baroque Motifs

Paper: Holiday designer paper, Pomegranate, Pretty in Pink

Ink: Pomegranate, Black

Accessories: photo corner punch, scallop punch, bling, new Holiday mini satin ribbon, sponge

I've been cleaning out my retired stamp and craft things and I have the following Stampin' Up sets for sale.  Most are used, but there are some that are still new and not yet cut out or mounted… note the (new) next to certain sets.

Shipping is $4.60 for however many sets I can fit in a flat rate priority envelope or $8.95 for however many will fit in a flat rate priority box (it will hold a lot of sets).  Or I can ship by weight... which will vary depending on your zipcode. Here's a card using the new Autumn Harvest set that will be in the upcoming holiday mini catalog. I watercolored the pumpkins with watercolor crayons and an aquapainter on watercolor paper. Then I sat there trying to figure out what to do with them. (Gail, if you see this... these are pumpkins I didn't know what to do with the day you were here stamping.)  I kept holding them up to different papers from the new Apple Cider dp to see which one looked better and trying to figure out what I wanted to add to the card. For some reason I felt completely stumped, so I decided to just set them aside for the moment.  Then the next day I had the Outlaw dp sitting out and decided to go with a piece from that. I wanted to stamp some leaves to use on the card and wondered how they'd look stamped on designer paper, so I stamped some on Outlaw paper and some on Apple Cider paper. I cut them out and sponged a little Close to Cocoa on them. I mounted the pumpkins on Close to Cocoa and detressed it a little. Then came the process of deciding where to place the leaves. If you knew how long it took me to decide you'd probably laugh, but that's just how it is with some cards.  : )  Some of the leaves are glued on flat and some are attached with dimensionals. Of course I had to add some ribbon to finish it off.  : )  And in the end I was pleased with the results.  Hope you like it.  : )

Stamps: Autumn Harvest (coming Sept. 1), God's Blessings

Paper: Close to Cocoa, watercolor paper, Outlaw dp, Apple Cider dp

Inks: Close to Cocoa, Stazon Black

Accessories: watercolor crayons, aquapainter, sponge, destresser, grosgrain ribbon, dimensionals

I'm having a lot of fun with this new True Friend set... so here's one using Really Rust  : )

I inked the stem and leaves of the flower with the mellow moss marker and then went over the edges with the garden green marker. The flower was stamped in Really Rust, cut out, mounted with dimensionals, and then I put glitter on part of it. (Not sure if you can see the glitter in the picture.)  Obviously there's lots of faux stitching. I can't seem to put away my piercer and mat pack. <wink>  : )   The buttons were threaded with floss and then attached with sticky strip.

Stamps: True Friend (coming in the Holiday mini Sept. 1), Itty Bitty Background

Paper: Really Rust, River Rock, Apple Cider designer paper (coming in the Holiday Mini)

Ink: Really Rust

Accessories: buttons, thread, markers, mat pack, piercer, sponge, glitter
